Catch up not Ketchup

Unpack, sort, repack… Again reminding to stop and stay a big longer when it’s not just vacation but life as lived.

First thing to note if you are travel-working, pack so that you minimize time spent on packing. Since I had to pack for Taiwan, Georgia, California, and Nevada before getting back to our car with more things, I’ve noticed there are things I’ve just packed “away” so I’ll probably be surprised when I unpack in Illinois.

So today is the 1st of September and I’m playing catch up on the blog, it has nothing to do with ketchup. I don’t think I even use ketchup for anything but burgers and fries anymore. But I’m playing catch up to add in my view, and playing around with options more on wordpress, scheduling posts, so you’ll probably be reading this one around the 3rd. (I’ll be sure to get pictures in before I post)

Instead of just posting a timeline of things we’ve done this time, I’m throwing in some thoughts. One, I didn’t have a clue how this blog thing would work out. I’ve wanted to be a blogger of sorts for a long time, but who am I to be posting things that others would want to read.

I’ve always have in the back of my head “it’s not about you”. So I assume no one really wants to hear about my problems. And I’ve enjoyed being with groups that have the same theory, THA for WAM in michigan have jersey’s that say: “Because it’s not about you”, FIRST Robotics and all the teams and mentors pushing each other.

So, when we started this, I didn’t think I would write anything much, and didn’t think I’d spend much time. But I do now have 10 hours a week of extra time I didn’t have before… And I wasn’t sure how Nicole and I would do this, do we write together, do we go back and forth on posts, do we review each others first? And the answer so far: We are as independent here as we are with many things. I’m inspired by my wife and I’m enjoying reading her posts probably more than anyone. And we haven’t been reviewing each others posts yet unless one asks the other. It’s pretty cool.

So to ketchup everyone on the actual happenings here, I’ll post more later this week on Yosemite, Death Valley and Vegas as we’ll have more of that glorious down time then, even though I’m working remotely, I’m still taking vacation time when I can’t get the work in, so I’m only remote working for 1 day this week!
