Next office, San Francisco, another Holiday Inn Express, so the setup was about the same (see grapes = corn), and about the same schedule. Had to make a short drive from Napa to Fisherman’s Wharf. Meaning we drove across the Golden Gate Bridge for a second time, here was leaving San Francisco to Napa:
Just getting onto the Bridge Northern Most tower
And here is coming back across the Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco:
Just getting onto the bridge Southern Most Tower
Crazy how much fog rolls into this bay. We checked in, dropped off the car, got some food and I finished up work for the day.
It was a short week with all the changing locations, but the best part is “lunch” since I’m currently doing 3-5 hours in the morning and 3-5 at night to get those 8 hours in. As my new boss put it, as long as I’m getting 40 in, he doesn’t care much. And of course I’m still doing more than that, but I now save 10 hours a week from not commuting, TEN HOURS!
So “lunch” break is now a lot more interesting, here’s a bunch of things via photo for Wednesday:
Stopped while driving in, got sand in the shoes… Darn… Hyde Pier St, Historic Ships Aquatic Cove (Municipal Pier left, no fishing required, Hyde Pier right) From Pier 41 looking at the SS Jeremiah O’Brien Pier 39 sea lions, they took over in ’89… Walking hills to dinner, found the curviest part of Lombard and walked up it too (drove it later!).
And Thursday was a longer work morning since we had to drive for a bit after visiting Alcatraz. If you get the chance, GO and take the cell block audio tour, it’s pretty cool to see, and there’s a lot more about it than just a Prison. Did you know children grew up there???
The steep roads of San Francisco The Recreation Yard at Alcatraz Last View from Treasure Island before driving out Alcatraz from Treasure Island Best place to eat on Treasure Island, worth the drive!
From here we drive Yosemite National Park, stop for a night in Bishop, then through Death Valley and on to Vegas! Let me know if you like all the links, I’ll keep putting them in.
