Figured since I got to stay for 7 days inside the hospital, and 3 without being tied to my room (grounds pass) and kept finding some great views and cool things to see that most wouldn’t go in to see, I’d make a countdown list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#10 – Your room during a fire alarm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\nHad 3 fire alarms happen while I was in the hospital. I didn’t get a picture of the ICU room, but this was my room in the step down floor. I got a view of the roof, but was walking enough when I got to the floor that I saw quite a bit already. As for the fire alarms, I had to ask, and it seems they happen, and everyone just pays attention to see if it’s really an issue and need to start moving.\n\n<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

#9 – South Tower – Floor 2 or 3 – above main floor common area<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was a nice place to stand if you’re a people watching kinda person. Both the second and third floor had the balcony so you could get a bit closer if you like. The market spot right at the bottom of the image is open 24 hours a day, so if you have money and a grounds pass, you can get whatever you want. I had no diet restrictions either, but was neither hungry nor full.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

#8 – North Tower – Floor 6 – Heading to East Tower<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could get to this area on the 3rd floor, but I liked the view much better. The windows on the right are all waiting rooms that are lit up at night. In fact this whole area was pretty at night and seemed there was alway someone asleep on the couches below. I never did go down to 3 to find the entrance though.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

#7 – South Tower – Floor 9 – Looking down at open center of tower<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technically this picture was taken from floor 8, but you get the idea. More about this area below, but it was nice to just look at this area without even going in. It closed around 10pm so this view at night was all lit up!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

#6 – North Tower – Floor 4,5,6 & 8 – heading towards South tower Elevators <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having time to stare at this section from outside, it looked like this was just a joining section between two buildings on the campus. Floor 7 didn’t really exist, and somehow they had all the other floors line up without noticing a ramp. Either way, it was a pretty view both during the day and at night.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

#5 – Central Tower – Floor 10 – Elevator windows<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, it looks like I didn’t take a picture here. It wasn’t the greatest view as in that it was just a normal window with blinds, but it did give you the highest vantage point to look as far as you could tell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#4 – South Tower – Floor 9 – Elevator Window<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another that I didn’t get around to getting a picture. Seems that last day when I was getting released I was a bit more ready for that then to get final pictures. This was one floor down from the Central Tower view, but the window was as tall as the floor and stretched to each side of the elevator bays, with no shades. If you were cold in the afternoon, you could stick your back against these windows and warm up quick! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

#3 – East Entrance – Patio (warm days only)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was the only place to get fresh air without being considered an escapee. Down under those blue umbrellas you could sit amongst nurses and doctors either on break or working away. Only issue I had was that it was shaded pretty much all the time, so you got fresh air, but not straight sun. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

#2 – South Tower – Floor 6 – <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was an environmentally controlled atrium or courtyard. I was told they have had weddings for cancer patients, and just on the other side a floor down is the childrens play area. It looked pretty cool, but alas that time wouldn’t let me in. But this atrium had some wonderfully comfortable couches with lots of leather pillows you could stack up. I’d usually find one or two asleep on one of these, and if I had a walky talky back to my nurses I would have done it too.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

#1 – THE Exit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The glorious exit! This is me on the way out since the let me walk out, in scrubs and all. I didn’t actually escape, but I got to look like I did! After 7 days in the hospital, really 5 that I can remember, I was able to go home, or at least our airbnb.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
